While looking up reviews of this hospital for an upcoming delivery in the maternity ward, and seeing so many of the negative comments about the ER, I felt inclined to share my experience almost 2yrs ago.
I walked into this ER almost 2yrs ago on a Saturday morning, 16wks pregnant and with a very sore right arm. I was seen immediately, and within the hour I had been diagnosed with shingles and was about to be discharged. A young nurse, probably not more than 24yo, saw a dip in my blood pressure and trusted her instincts that something was not right. Very long story short, I was admitted to the hospital for further workup however for whatever reason I was kept in one of the triage rooms in the ER for about the next 8hrs, probably just due to space and needing to be transferred to Centennial in Nashville later that evening. The entire time I was there, all of the nurses and doctors were wonderful. My husband came later with our 2yo daughter to see me, and the nurses brought her coloring books and things to play with to keep her occupied for a little bit. I was pleasantly surprised at their willingness to let my young daughter hang out in the room with me for a little bit.
Upon arriving, the line for the check-in process to be admitted to the emergency room did not take long. The reception staff even gave me documentation to be completed and other tasks needed to be done prior to my being admitted. This was nice because usually these steps are taken much later in the process either during the ER or at the payment area, so my time spent here was more minimal. However, once being admitted, my service was sub-par. I had several nurses check in periodically throughout different steps of treatment, yet it was only until 90 minutes of being in the ER did I finally receive a water drip. Two assistants even specifically commented how dehydrated I was yet took no action. I was told by one assistant that this day in particular was their busiest day ever. Nevertheless, whether it was exceedingly busy or not, basic treatment care need not be overlooked. Additionally, it took quite some time getting the needle in a vein despite having no trouble in the past with this step. It did not leave bruising but I did experience a fair share of pain. This was after I was told how easy my veins looked to be to work with.
Apart from the care itself and the steps leading up to it, the facility is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and works toward performing adequately. The space I was moved to was covered on all sides with curtains in substitute of walls, so all the noise throughout this area could be heard. I have never been to an ER prior to my own visit, so perhaps this kind of organization and layout is commonplace, but it did seem to some degree unsettling as others with low tolerance to pain cried out loud needing assistance.
My sister and I took our mother to StoneCrest ER this past Saturday night. She was immediately taken back due to her age and symptoms. All of the staff were attentive and caring to her and us. They promptly ruled out a serious infection and moved to other testing to determine what exactly was causing her problems. We were there for several hours, but mostly due to the fact she needed fluid and that takes time. She was able to return to my house early Sunday morning and as of Monday afternoon feeling a lot better. So thank you to her nurse, Jennifer, her Doctor, Domino, and the respiratory therapist and imaging staff that took great care of her. Thank you for listening and making the best decisions for her recovery.
I also want to give nurse Nicole kudos for her kind professional demeanor.
I have nothing but positive things to say about this hospital and especially the ER. I was extremely sick and 100% credit that young nurse for saving my life. Had she not followed her instinct and let me get discharged with a wrong diagnosis, I would have left that hospital and very likely not be here today. The staff here were top notch and Im anticipating an equally positive experience delivering my child here in March.
Just a note to say Thank You for the excellent care I received during my recent surgery. Everyone was so wonderful, your staff is simply the best at StoneCrest Medical Center. I express my wholehearted appreciation for the care and professional attention they have provided me. One word describes your hospital staff – CARING. Their patience, kindness, and understanding they gave to me will never be forgotten. Thank you for the excellent medical care. Your staff is simply the BEST!! They were so sweet, kind and professional. I am in awe of the great people there.
I had a great experience with the doctors and nurses at TriStar. They were caring and answered all my questions and made me felt at ease. I would not hesitate to have outpatient surgery there in the future.
