They have some issues to work out. Bullies aren't dealt with, they are just excused as having single parents. The drop off procedure is ridiculous. Everyday the late sign is turned at a different time. Everyone rushes into the front parking for drop-off bc you will sit at the light to turn into the front drop off for 25 min. Also in part by allowing parents to take dear loving time. Get out, pop the truck, dig for lunch money and say goodbyes wasting everyone's time. I dropped my kid off at kindergarten line and his class is first class inside the door. There was 2 min to bell ring and a teacher grabbed my kid to force him back in my car saying we were late. By the time I drove back to main entrance and waited through the long line of parents where were late he was 20 min late for class. My husband even had a teacher shut door in his face walking my son in at 7:27. Then the school has the audacity to send out truancy letters after an illness breakout bc people are afraid to not send their kids to school. Every week there is a new sickness spreading. They need to sterilize the building.
So yesterday my child sprained his ankle at school at the end of the day and NO ONE CONTACTED me or anyone on the emergency contact list. They put him on the bus and sent him on his way. He had to go to the emergency room for it and is now having to use crutches. This is complete neglect and irrisponsible on the behalf of them. They don't contact you when your child is physically bullied,i would know because that happrned two years ago as well, and they clearly don't contact you when there's a real emergancy.We keep getting sent to voice mail everytime we call. I would up there , unfortunately my child doesnt want to get up due to the pain he is going through. So with the fact he has finally gotten comfortable, im going to have to wait to go up there. I would send him elsewhere, but I'm not in an area where he is zoned for other options .
My son went here from kindergarten until 5th grade and loved every year. He is now going into 10th grade and is doing really well with the base education from this school.
policies and procedures are making it extremely difficult to form a positive parent-teacher relationship at stewartsboro. I was very active with Rosebank Elementary school in Nashville and Im appalled at the constant negative vibe many parents receive from this school. It operates more like a penal institution than an elementary school and I plan to advise the board of this also. Its truly disappointing.
i have went to stewartsboro for 5 years and loved and now i have to move witch i hated i loved the school so much.i now like reading because of stewartsboro . most of the teachers are nice ,and they have so many games you can rent . Ms.silver was my favorite 5th grade teacher that i had in 4th .
